ROUTE ORDER : Final Route

So let’s talk about the bad end first ? It was fine, way more in line with what I wanted Tomose to be honestly, a little yandere on the side. But it was kind of undercut by the fact that Hiyori is so… passive ? Unable to make a decision for herself ? It was still an interesting end to decide and believe in him and accept to be imprisoned with him but she’s just… so boring in that route. She becomes enamored with him but you lose any sense of the horror there. Sure it’s a bad end but she doesn’t feel it.

Also the only route where she actively decides to doubt someone and it is Dazai and not Haiji who just showed her he can manipulate Arcadia with ease. It’s just that in any route where she is paired with an unrepentant villain she becomes the worst possible version of herself. And you have to slog through it with her.

MYSTERY CONCLUSION :

As for the truth route you can get on this path… I mean it’s cool to get a better idea as to what the mystery was, and I was really invested in it. The biggest plot twist was that Haiji was some sort of AI, when I really thought he was a child born from up there somehow and left for dead after they stopped the Morpheus Project. It was kind of satisfying ? And I liked the added angst of knowing the Arcadians are now left to die, especially knowing Chigasaki's past. Plus, not everything ends perfectly for everyone, there’s still some stuff beyond just going back home that needs to be done. And the cast get some more scenes together bonding which is always nice.

As for the dog boyfriend uncle aspect… Yaoi Jesus ? Is that you back from the dead to bless us with another completely bonkers plot ?

Also fun that Dazai and Tomose are still so hang up on Sena, and that apparently no one thinks it’s weird we put our AI boyfriend in our palt’s body.
